About this session
This session provides an insightful and positive introduction to way ADHD presents in girls. The female presentation of ADHD can be challenging to unpick, and many girls go undiagnosed into adulthood with no specific focussed support which could help them reach their true potential.
Sometimes girls with ADHD are misunderstood and present as lazy, withdrawn, distracted or unmotivated, whereas in reality they are dealing with an undiagnosed special educational need.
This session provides a useful insight into the female presentation of ADHD at a primary and secondary level. The session outlines symptoms and traits, includes useful case studies, and practical support strategies as well as opportunities to ask questions.
Do have a girl within your educational setting who has difficulty concentrating and staying focused?
Do they demonstrate a variety of behaviours that can be challenging to manage?
Do they have difficulties managing simple, everyday tasks or avoid tasks completely?
Do they find emotions difficult to manage?
Do they have difficulties organising and managing their day?
Join us and explore the different ways ADHD presents in girls and gain a better insight into supporting them.
