About this session
This session provides a useful background understanding of the area inclusing Attachment Theory, Trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and explores the impact these can have on development and learning.
We will look at evidence-based approaches that can help children and young people who have experienced these types of challenges improve their educational attainment and behaviour.
Session participants will be signposted to various resources that will support their work.

Useful for those working with or caring for:
Children and young people who are part of the care system or who have been part of the care system previously
Children and yound people who are adopted and experienced difficulties
Children and young people who have experienced trauma and/or adverse childhood events
Children who seem to be consistently under-achieving and/or displaying cognitive delay, and also often displaying some challenging/distressed behaviours
Children and yound people that have been excluded or at risk of exclusion.
