This session is designed as an introduction to describe how speech, language and communication develops.

It shares the differences between terminology such as delay and disorder and describes top tips and strategies to support a child with both.

It includes a quiz and an opportunity for you to ask questions.

Session Leader: Jane McKean

The session is led by Jane McKean. Jane is a self confessed Speech and language therapy geek who knows that having the right intervention to support communication at the right time makes a world of difference.

Jane has been a speech and language therapist since 2000. She trained in Manchester and has worked in community clinics, schools, special schools and later Sure Start and Children Centres.

Jane runs her own successful Speech and Language Therapy Service business 'Let’s Talk' , working with children with ASC, DLD, speech sound difficulties and speech & language delays.
