About this session

What can you do when a child is obviously struggling with following and interpreting age-appropriate instructions and managing social interactions?

Do they frequently misinterpret what you say and ‘just get it wrong’?

Children with auditory processing issues are often under-identified and can struggle to reach their potential, as well as frustrating adults who struggle to understand their difficulties.

This practical session provides the basic information needed to gain some insights into auditory processing disorder and how it can affect children at different ages in the primary sector. Mary will provide strategies to promote effective practice in both school and home settings so that these needs are understood and supported.

Useful for:

  • Schools, other settings and homes with early years, primary age children causing concern

Suitable for:

  • Special Educational Needs Coordinators (SENCOs), Teachers, Learning Support Assistants and Parents

Also included:

  • Summary sheet of Key Points
  • Certificate of Attendance
